All About Anti-Sweat Heater Controls

Image
Anti-sweat heaters (ASH) are electric resistance heaters that are installed in the frames and doors of refrigerated cases to reduce condensation and prevent fogging. The Anti-sweater heater controls monitor the relative humidity and are programmed to ensure that the doors and frames are heated only when necessary. ASH controllers save energy by adjusting the heater duty cycle in response to relative humidity and dew point. ASH prevents fogging on the doors when open, which precludes customers from clearly viewing the food products. ASH Benefits, ·          Reduce energy usage by cycling off heaters when they are not needed ·          Decrease electrical demand, particularly during cold winter months ·          Minimize the heat added to the case by reducing heater run time ·          Extend compressor life by reducing the load on the case. Most glass doors on the refrigerated cases are equipped with an anti-sweat heater to prevent the formation of moisture on the glass
